We're Here! The National Women's Team Arrives in China

HARBIN, CHINA – It took a bus, a ferry, another bus, a plane, another bus, another plane and another bus, but Canada’s National Women’s Team has arrived in Harbin, China for the 2008 IIHF World Women’s Championship.

Grand total travel time: 28 hours, 24 minutes.

Here’s how the travel broke down for the Canadian women:

March 30th, 2008
5:00 a.m. PST – Departure from Bear Mountain Westin on Vancouver Island
7:00 a.m. PST – Ferry to Tsawwassen
9:15 a.m. PST – Check-in at Vancouver International Airport
12:30 p.m. PST – Flight to Beijing, China

March 31st, 2008
5:00 p.m. Beijing time – Arrival in Beijing
9:15 p.m. Beijing time – Flight to Harbin

April 1st, 2008
1:00 a.m. Harbin time – Arrival in Harbin

Canada’s National Women’s Team will practice on April 1st in preparation for an exhibition game on April 2nd against Sweden. The 2008 IIHF World Women’s Championship begins on April 4th, with Canada taking on Russia, as the Canadians seek their 10th world championship.
