CALGARY, Alberta – Hockey Canada has hired Jaime Boldt as governance advisor, a new position that will play an important role in supporting and advancing the organization’s governance model and policies.

A recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for her contributions to the province of Saskatchewan, Boldt is an adjunct professor at the University of Regina’s Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy and joins Hockey Canada after five years as the executive director of Globe Theatre in the Queen City.

“As we strive to be a governance leader in the Canadian sport system, Jaime’s role will be instrumental in helping us ensure that our governance model is effective, sustainable and efficient as we build the Hockey Canada of the future,” said Katherine Henderson, president and chief executive officer of Hockey Canada. “Her portfolio will benefit our board, Members, staff and ultimately all of the participants in hockey in our country, and we cannot wait to officially welcome her to the organization on April 15.”

Boldt has also worked as a consultant with Canadian Women & Sport to support sport organizations and leaders in their efforts to advance gender equity and currently is a member of the Forbes Nonprofit Council.

“Hockey Canada is a source of national pride for Canadians, and I am extremely excited to join the organization at this pivotal moment in its history,” said Boldt. “There have been great strides made to enhance Hockey Canada’s governance efforts in the past year, and I look forward to continuing that work to not only meet the standards of good governance, but exceed them.

“I am grateful that with the support of the board of directors, Katherine and her staff have identified governance as an area of priority for the organization and I am confident that by learning from the past, building on existing recommendations and establishing clear and transparent practices, Hockey Canada can be a proven and trusted governance leader in the sport system.”
