Game Story

Sophie Shirley (Saskatoon, Sask./University of Wisconsin, WCHA) and Ella Shelton (Ingersoll, Ont./Clarkson University, ECAC) scored goals in the third period, but Gold's bid to erase a 3-0 deficit fell short as Japan eked out a 3-2 win at the BFL National Women's Development Team Selection Camp on Monday night. Japan set itself up for the win by building a 2-0 lead in the first period. Gold tested Japanese netminder Nana Fujimoto with 13 shots in the final frame, but came up a goal short.
