Quotes:

I think it’s important to stick to the habits and details that we’ve been emphasizing the entire tournament, and making sure the players are holding themselves accountable to the way that we want to play and the style we want to play. As long as we’re working on both sides of the puck, we should be in a good spot. It’s always good when our players are still hunting pucks and trying to stick lift and go on offence, so we’re happy with our team’s effort. We did a good job of adapting to the style of game being called and we did a good job not taking any penalties.”

- Assistant coach Kori Cheverie (New Glasgow, N.S.) on the team’s performance

I’ve had some experience playing games like these (not facing a lot of shots), so for me it’s just about staying engaged by communicating with my teammates. I try to play the puck and also find ways to stay alert because when teams do get their shots, they’re going to be good opportunities.”

- Maschmeyer on facing only five shots

“My confidence level has just been going up since the Olympics. You get that year under your belt and the next thing you know you’re at a camp again and it becomes the same thing you’ve been doing; it’s playing hockey and playing confidently. I think it’s also the trust with my defensive partner (Mikkelson); when she jumps, I hold back and when I jump she holds back, so having that trust between [defence] pairings and forward lines, we’re interchangeable and it keeps us successful.”

Shelton on how her game is evolving
