Quotes:

“We haven’t played [the U.S.] in a long time and their lineup looks a little different. They definitely like to play the press and keep pucks in the offensive zone. We had to weather the storm a little bit and get back to our game plan, our details and habits and we were able to prevail with a few goals.”

“It’s simple things - puck management, knowing where and when to put the puck and our stick details are always going to be key. Playing on the right side of the puck is something that is important to our group. It’s good to have these pre-tournament games because you can take what you like and run with it, and take what you don’t like, clean things up, but it was definitely good to get two games under our belt.”

- Assistant coach Kori Cheverie (New Glasgow, N.S.) on the team’s pre-tournament games

“When you play with the calibre of players that I have had the opportunity to play with, I think you just kind of get yourself lost and find the open space because you know they’re going to get you the puck. A lot of times [your linemates’ strong play] gets missed and the goal scorer gets the attention, but I really do think it’s all of them away from that.”

- Eldridge her confidence going into worlds

It’s something that our team takes a lot of pride in. We understand how big of a challenge it’s going to be when every team we face is trying to take us down. We’re excited and looking forward to getting the games started.”

- Turnbull on the chance to defend their world championship title
