2018 RBC Cup: By the numbers

Facts and figures on the two teams facing off in the RBC Cup championship game, and on how 132 teams became two

The 2017-18 season comes to an end Sunday for the Canadian Junior Hockey League, with two teams – the host Chilliwack Chiefs and Wellington Dukes – remaining in the chase for the RBC Cup.

But how did those two teams, and the rest of the CJHL, get to the championship game? And how do the Chiefs and Dukes match up?

ROAD TO THE RBC CUP

260 – Days between the first regular-season game (Pembroke Lumber Kings vs. Navan Grads in the Central Canada Hockey League) on Sept. 2, 2017 and the RBC Cup final on Sunday.

4,226 – Regular season (3,714) and playoff (512) games necessary for 132 teams to become two on the Road to the RBC Cup.

28,530 – Goals scored in the regular season (25,310) and playoffs (3,220) by the 132 teams across the CJHL, an average of 6.75 goals per game.
